The Energy Rating (ER) is a Canadian performance metric that combines a window's heat loss (U-factor), solar heat gain (SHGC), and air leakage into a single number. A higher ER is better. For ENERGY STAR Zone 3 (Alberta), windows must achieve a minimum ER of 34. High-performance triple-pane windows often reach ER 40–50+. In a heating-dominated climate like Southern Alberta's, a high ER means less heat escaping and lower natural gas bills — particularly from October through April.
Most whole-home replacements (10–15 windows) are completed in a single day. Our crew works through openings one at a time — each old window is removed, and the new one is installed and sealed before moving on, so no opening is ever left exposed for more than 5–10 minutes. Larger projects or homes with difficult access (high or hard-to-reach openings) may span two days. We provide a clear timeline before booking.
Yes. We install year-round and regularly work through Alberta winters. Our crews are set up to work down to approximately -15°C. Because each opening is only exposed for 5–10 minutes while the new window is installed, the impact on your home's temperature is minimal — most clients report barely noticing. Below -15°C, sealants and caulks can struggle to cure properly, which is why we use that as our cold-weather threshold.
Alpha Series is Durabuilt's smooth sliding line — Slider, Single Hung, and Picture windows. Engineered for effortless horizontal operation with a sturdy, air and watertight design. A practical, high-value choice for straightforward openings.

Omega Series is Durabuilt's swing-away line — Casement, Awning, Picture, Bay, and Bow. Casement-style windows swing open for exceptional ventilation and compress against the frame when closed, providing a tighter air seal than sliding windows and slightly higher ER ratings.

Delta Series is Durabuilt's premium fiberglass line. Foam-filled fiberglass frames, slim sightlines, more glass per opening, and outstanding long-term dimensional stability. The highest-performance option and the best choice for maximizing glass area in premium builds or renovations.

Durabuilt windows are made-to-order in Canada. After you approve and sign your written quote, your windows go into production. Current lead time is typically 5–7 weeks from signed quote to installation day. We'll give you the specific production estimate at quote time. Once your windows arrive at our shop, we contact you to schedule the installation at a time that works for you.
Someone over 18 needs to be present at the start of the day to let the crew in, confirm the scope, and be available for any questions. You don't need to supervise the work — our crews work independently and professionally. We do ask that someone be reachable by phone throughout the day. At the end of the project, we'll walk through every window with you before we pack up.

In addition, Vesper provides our own separate workmanship warranty on every installation. If anything related to how the windows were installed — flashing, trim, sealing, operation — is not right, we come back and fix it. No argument, no charge. Warranty documentation is provided in writing at project completion.
